Human Design Profile

Profile 6/2 · The Role Model · Hermit

A role model with a hermit streak: experiment, withdraw, then embody. Trust the three acts of your life; wisdom is the third.

A profile is two lines. The first comes from your personality Sun: the part of the costume you recognize as yourself. The second comes from your design Sun, fixed 88° before birth: the body’s style, running whether you notice it or not.

Line 6, conscious · the Role Model

The side of you that you identify with is line 6, the line of the role model. It lives in three acts: hands-on experiment until about thirty, a long view from the roof until about fifty, then living as the example. Wisdom is the third act.

Line 2, unconscious · the Hermit

Underneath, the body runs line 2, the line of natural talent. It works best undisturbed, half unaware of how it does what it does, and the world keeps calling it out anyway. The right calls name something it actually loves doing. Because this side is unconscious, other people often see it more clearly than you do.

What is a Left Angle cross?

Profiles with a Left Angle incarnation cross are transpersonal: the life theme completes itself through encounters with others. The people who cross your path are the point, not an interruption.

What is it like to live the 6/2 profile?

Your profile pairs the Role Model with the Hermit: a conscious sixth line living its long three-act life, and an unconscious second line of natural, unstudied gifts that ripen in solitude. The sixth line sets the arc. Until about thirty you lived like a third line: headlong, experimental, collecting experience and its bruises at full speed, and probably feeling, somewhere, that this wasn’t quite who you were. It wasn’t; it was the gathering season. Around thirty the design climbs onto the roof: decades of watching, integrating, growing selective. And from around fifty it comes down again, changed: someone whose lived example, more than anything they say, is the contribution.

The second line runs underneath the whole arc: there are things you are simply, inexplicably good at, and they replenish only in genuine alone-time. This deepens the roof years especially; a 6/2 hermits with real conviction, and the world, which cannot see design, may read the withdrawal as aloofness or lost momentum. It is neither. The gift is curing alongside the wisdom. But the second line also means you get called: people see the naturalness you cannot see yourself and summon it out of the cabin. The right calls, tested against your authority, are how both of your lines get delivered to the world.

Cohabiting with this profile works when the architecture honors it: a 6/2 needs a literal or figurative room of their own inside even the happiest household, and a partner who understands that the door closing is the marriage working, not failing. The second line also means your people will sometimes see your gifts more clearly than you do, and their calling you out, gently, at the right moment, is one of love’s real services to this design. Let them. The trick is only that the final vote belongs to your authority: not to pride, not to shyness, and not to the beloved’s enthusiasm either.

What this profile grows into is quietly considerable: authenticity you can lean on. The sixth line’s long view, the second line’s naturalness, and no performance anywhere in the stack; by the third act, you are trusted precisely because you visibly stopped auditioning decades ago. Two tendings on the way there. Keep faith with the arc: each act is supposed to feel different, and mourning the roof from the roof only lengthens it. And keep the solitude sacred at every age; for a 6/2 it is not time away from your life, it is the room where your life is made.

And as the third act approaches or arrives, give the accumulated watching somewhere to go. The roof years fill a 6/2 with pattern and perspective that solitude alone will never spend: the quiet mentorship, the craft finally shared, the letter, the class, the younger person who asks. You will not have to seek the audience; the second line’s callers and the sixth line’s watchers find the genuine article on their own. What is asked of you is only to be findable: alive in your own naturalness, honest about the arc, and willing, when called for the right thing, to come down from the roof with what you saw.

How common is the 6/2 profile?

We measured this ourselves rather than repeat the numbers every site copies from every other site: of 100,000 charts computed for random birth moments spread across a century, about 15% carried the 6/2 profile. Whatever the share, the count is company, not a ranking. The full tables and the method live in How common is your design?

Which well-known people had the 6/2 profile?

Carrying the 6/2: Marilyn Monroe, Maya Angelou, Audrey Hepburn, Leonard Cohen, Bruce Lee, Jimi Hendrix, Olivia Newton-John and Prince. Their birth records are public and reliability-rated (Astro-Databank via Astrotheme), and every chart was computed by our own engine from each recorded birth moment; we never copy type claims from circulating lists.
